A Semi-Nude Lady, possibly a Bride with her Hair Stylist

 

Oil on canvas: 36 ½ x 29 in. Frame. 42 x 34 in. Signed. circa late 1990

 

Efimenko Victor Romanovich (Ефименко Виктор Романович) was born in Donetsk, Ukraine in 1952, and graduated from the N. Samokish Crimean Art School in 1975, under V. Sobol, and M. Morgun.

 

Lived and worked in the Sumy city, N.E. Ukraine. The artist died on 1st of November, 2017.

 

He was a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine 1978, National Artist of Ukraine 2012. Head of Sumy organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine from 1987 to 1989.

 

Participated in numerous regional, national and international exhibitions. Solo exhibitions were held in Kyiv (2001–2004), Sumy (2002), Brussels (2004), Ghent (Belgium, 2002–2003), Kharkiv (2007).

 

Major works: “Patrol” (1977), “Native Land” (1978), “Waiting” (1980), “Still Life with a White Jug” (1981), “Beginning” (1984), “Lilac” (1986; 1990), “During the Break” (1987), “Autumn Still Life” (1992; 1995), “Morning on the Veranda” (1994), “Blue Umbrella” (1995).

 

Works represented in the Sumy Art Museum, Lebedinsky Art Museum (Sumy region).
