Artist Biography
A Pre-Raphaelite ‘Madonna and Child’ under an Arbour of Passion Flowers.
Signed H .A. Oliver `96’and inscribed on H.A.Olivier, 28 Finchley Road, NW London on stretcher.
Olivier painted figurative subjects, genre and portraits. Born, Battle, E. Sussex. Studied at the R.A schools (Creswick prize 1882) R.B.A.1887. R.I. 1929.
Olivier was the uncle of the late Lord Olivier , the celebrated actor. Exhibited at the Royal academy 1883-1904.
