Park was born in Preston, Lancashire and went on to become a painter of marines and landscapes. At the age of only 18 moved to St. Ives to work with the great artistic colony there.
He studied under Julius Olsson who encouraged him to go and study in Paris.
Strongly influenced by the French Impressionists, Park’s work is always brightly coloured and spontaneous, his impressionistic touch with colour and light; best known for brilliantly coloured impressionistic depictions of boats in St Ives harbour (Such as this work).
He exhibited coastal and fishing scenes regularly at the Royal Academy. Park travelled widely and exhibited at the Paris Salon where he was awarded a Gold Medal in 1924.
He helped form the St Ives Society of Artists.
In 1923 he was elected a member of The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and exhibited 63 paintings there. In 1934 became a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and exhibited 27 paintings.
