Tolokonnikova Margarita (1925-1976) was a Soviet artist born in Almaty (Formerly Alma-Alta) a major commercial and cultural centre of Kazakhstan.
Although recorded as a Soviet artist, she studied in the Ukraine at the University of Kharkov, and graduated from the Kiev Art Institute in 1956, where she studied under A. Cherkassky and S. Besedin. Lived and worked in Lugansk, Ukraine.
Exhibited in Republican, Union and international exhibitions, since 1956. Honoured artist of Ukraine. A member of the CFS. Known for her realistic still life’s full of sun and children’s genre.
Her works are represented in the museums of Ukraine and in private collections of Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Greece, Italy and the UK.
