Andre Michel was born in Paris and became a painter of urban landscapes and street scenes. He exhibited his work in 1935 and 1936 at the Salon des Independants in Paris. Many of his paintings seem to be small pairs of typical urban views of Paris in a meticulous, colourful style.
His paintings were of the everyday life of the Parisian people; at the flower market; View of the Seine in Paris, Notre Dame de Paris; View of a Parisian outdoor market; Vue de Montmartre and the Champs Elysees. His street scenes always included figures. His paintings seem to be always signed A. Michel.
