Andries Vermeulen (Meulan) was born in Dordrechtin 1763. He was taught by his father, Cornelis Vermeulen. He imitated Cuyp and Hobbema, and worked for some time in Amsterdam, where he died. He was a landscape painter.
His works are always full of detail and beautifully observed. His lighting effects owe much to the “Golden Era” of Dutch painting.
